I have only had
two years of odontology and subjects so i can´t say a lot about the subjects but
I can say about that the subjects that I have now (and had the last year) that
around the 50 percent of they was and are “challa” (I mean that I believe that they
are completely unnecessary) for example: the last year I had infotecnology…
what it is? A subjet about power point, Photoshop and nothing else, nothing
new… other subject that I think was a loss of time was “society and culture” we literally planted strawberries and saw
movies like Totoro. This year the “challa” subjet that I have is OBE that is a subject
about how search information and where. On the other hand the last year I had
anatomy and BAYB that are basic subjest for the acquire of knowledge, and this
year I have Simulation and Diagnostic that are an approximation to the clinical
reality and they serve to develop our skills and maybe that should be more
important that have a Photoshop class, If I could change something i chose have
more subjects that are related with my career and eliminate the thing that maybe
we will never use it again.
I think that my
time the last year was more that in this year because the subjects of the first
year had not been a major burden (exclude Anatomy and BAYB), instead this year
in Diagnostic and Simulation we have to study almot 30 classes for only one
test, and they are not short classes, are really BIG. In the case of diagnostic
is more easy because the teachers teach well (although study 30 classes take a
lot of time and days without sleep) but in Simulation the situation it’s really
complicated, in first place the teachers are completely subjetives in the
evaluations of our abilities in the practical tests, one day you can have a 70
and to the next day you can will reprobate your test, so I like that in the
future that can be regulated with guidelines or something like that. In
simulation also the teaching method are so differents, the teachers only talk
in class and we need putting into practice all that without see how do it in
the real life, and maybe the teachers should show us although once how do the
things. Other problem in simulation is
the time, is not enough to finish all the program and that should be change.
The laboratories
or “Salas de paso” that we use in simulation are in poor conditions, always
some breaks or doesn’t functioning, and we don’t have enough materials. We need
more fund for improve the conditions and learn better, especially because in
odontology we use a lot the technology like the turbine, and if the air
compressor doesn’t serve, what we can do?.
In short, I think
that my career needed a lot of improvement in the two first years, and I can imagine
the next years if this is just beginning…💔
I feel the same like you in the first year, infotech and syc are the shittiest way to waste our precious time, and for the 2nd year I cannot talk already but it scares me a little bit.

I very much agree that we have many 'challa' courses hahah infotecnology wtf
